Versatile Records is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year by reissuing some of its classic offerings. Daft Punk‘s 1996 remix of I:Cube‘s “Disco Cubizm” is the first release in the series.

The reissued Daft Punk track will arrive as part of a 2-track vinyl EP with a remastered version of the French robots’ remix on the A-side. The B-side will feature a previously unreleased DJ Gregory remix of Cheek‘s “Venus Sunshine People.” The Disco Cubizm/Venus 12″ is set to drop March 18.

The “Disco Cubizm” remix is one of the robots’ earliest releases, originally appearing as the B-side on the 12″ for the I:Cube track the summer of 1996. That 12″ marked the label’s first official release. Listen to it below.

Cheek’s original version of “Venus Sunshine People” is another standout from the mid-90s French electronic dance scene. As Thump points out, the track makes a memorable appearance in Daft Punk’s Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 in 1998. Revisit that classic mix below.

Daft Punk and Versatile Records have played mutually important roles in kicking-off one another’s careers as mainstays in the French dance scene. The robots even shared an office in Paris with the imprint’s founder, Gilbert Cohen, back in 1997 just before the duo released their debut album, Resident Advisor reports.

Versatile started out by releasing the aforementioned tracks as well as records by other big names in French dance music like Laurent GarnierPepe Bradock and Joakim. Over the years the imprint has released records by countless other French artists spanning electronic subgenres including ChaixZombie Zombie and Acid Arab.

While the imprint has not yet revealed plans for other reissues in the anniversary series, fans of French dance music can expect at least a few additional remastered versions of tracks from the label’s decades-spanning roster of artists.
