After showing off the device at CES 2016 earlier this year, Crosley is finally ready to set its highly-anticipated Mickey Mouse-themes Cruiser turntable into the wild for Record Store Day 2016. The themed turntable is a follow up to Crosley’s exclusive 2014 Record Store Day turntable that featured the characters of Peanuts.
“Since Record Store Day’s inception in 2008, its goal has always been to celebrate and promote to the media and general public that many independently owned brick and mortar record stores are surviving and thriving,” Scott Bingaman, CEO of Deer Park Distribution, which services independent record stores all over the United States, said in a statement.
This time around, Crosley teamed up with Disney to create the Mickey Mouse-themed Crosley Cruiser. “Record Store Day couldn’t be happier to work with Crosley on a Disney turntable designed for young kids,” Michael Kurtz, co-founder of Record Store Day,” said in the statement. “It’s how I, and just about every vinyl fan I know, got introduced to the love of playing records.”
The construction of the 2016 Record Store Day Cruiser features colorful artwork of Mickey Mouse and Pluto on the outside and inside; real wood construction wrapped with vinyl; a belt-driven three-speed turntable that plays 33s, 45s, and 78s; built-in dynamic stereo speakers; a headphone jack for private listening; RCA out and AUX in jacks; and an AC power adapter.
The specially-themed Crosley Cruiser will be available on Record Store Day (April 16) for $109.95 at Record Store Day independent stores.
