This Saturday (Apr 16) music lovers unite and rejoice – World Record Store Day (RSD) is back for another year and our favourite record stores are celebrating with so much musical goodness, we don’t even know where to start: live in-store performances, full bars, discounts, giveaways, and then some.

To keep your musical interest primed for the weekend, have a peek at our round up of Melbourne’s best record stores and our interview with Graham Kennedy, proprietor of Vinyl Revival, one of the latest additions to Brunswick Street’s cool new shops.

And this is why we love Greville Records so – it’s celebrating RSD with a non-stop Bowie extravaganza. Tim Rogers, Dan Kelly, Ash Naylor and Mick Harvey will honour the Thin White Duke from about 3pm onwardsThe Closet Straights and the Sugar Canes will busk out on the street and there’ll be plenty of giveaways (including posters, mags and Greville Record’s fave homemade DVD – curious?) and discounts on music. On top of that, there’ll be a pile of RSD exclusive vinyl – but even if there weren’t, we’d go anyway.
